Procedure To Select a Wheel

  Step 1: Wheel Capacity

  • Add the weight to move to the weight of the cart.
  • Divide the total by 3.
  • The result is the capacity of the wheel you should use for the application.
Step 2: Diameter of the Wheel

  • Consider the roughness of the floor.
  • A large diameter Wheel will work better on uneven floors than a small wheel.
  • The wheel diameter should be proportional to cart and load heights.
  Step 3: Wheel Material

  • You should take into consideration three factors:
  • Surface where the Wheel will work.
  • Environmental aspects.
  • Type of load to move.

  Step 4: Work Surface

  • The selected Wheel should have a good abrasion resistance without damaging the floors.
